Bellone Congratulates Participants in Disabilities Job Fair

Hundreds Turn Out for County's Inaugural Event

(HAUPPAUGE, NY November 3, 2014)—On October 27th, more than 330 people participated in Suffolk County’s inaugural disability job fair held in recognition of National Disability Employment Awareness Month.

“We are pleased that so many residents were able to come to the job fair to connect with employers who need good workers,” Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone said. “Everyone deserves a fair shot at finding a job that suits their talents and interests. The employers who came to this fair are clearly interested in connecting with the best workers available for the position.”

About a dozen Long Island employers participated, including Cintas, EAC Network, Express Employment Professionals, GoodTemps, Ken’s Crew, Macy’s, Miteq, Sears, Sensitron Semiconductor, Triworks and the Urban League Mature Workers Program. The companies were hiring to fill a variety of positions, including retail associates, drivers, community outreach workers, security, and home healthcare aides.
