Celebrate Women's Health at Simon's Smith Haven Mall with 'PAINT THE MALL PINK' Events
October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Simon malls across the country are marking the occasion with 'Paint the Mall Pink.'

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Smith Haven Mall and other Simon malls across the country are marking the occasion with Paint the Mall Pink, a community-based grassroots program featuring educational displays, health fairs, retailer offerings, special events and other activities that promote women’s health.
“As an integral part of the community, we want to be a resource for the health issues that affect women and their families,” said Ashley Jacobsen, director of marketing and business development at Smith Haven Mall “We are honored to host a variety of ‘pink-themed’ activities to recognize this important endeavor.”
On Thursday, October 9 from 6-8 p.m. in Center Court Smith Haven Mall has planned a variety of Paint the Mall Pink activities, including the following:

• Fall fashion segments presented by LOFT and Chico’s
• Free mini makeovers and beauty tips provided by Macy’s Cosmetics and Sephora
• Complimentary refreshments and small bites from mall restaurants and eateries
• Health seminars, demonstrations and informational presentations from a number of local businesses including: North Shore Hematology Oncology, North Shore Eye Care, Advocates for Hope, St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center, Stony Brook Bariatric and Metabolic Weight Loss Center, UFC Gym of Commack and more.
• Pink themed photo booth
• Free swag bags to the first 250 ladies to register
In addition, a special “Paint Nite” activity will allow individuals to paint their own picture under the tutelage of local artist Lisa Salem. The cost to participate is $32 and includes all materials. No experience is required. A portion of the proceeds will go to St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center Women’s Health and Outpatient Pavilion. Since space is limited, those interested are encouraged to pre-register by visiting: www.paintnite.com. Walk-ins that evening are welcome, subject to availability.
