Complimentary Wine Tasting & Cheese Pairing

On Saturday, May 19, from 3 to 6pm, Vine 2 Wine will be offering Christian Bernard Select Block Gamay 2009 as well as I Petri Falanghina 2007.  The Gamay is Christian Bernard's entire 2009 production of a special cuvee normally bottled as Cuvee des Cotes, made from 50+ year old hillside blocks of Gamay in Fleurie. The quality of this vintage along with the depth and beauty of this cuvee inspired a new label and look with each bottle being hand-dipped in red wax.  The Falanghina is grown on a hillside facing the south with excellent sun exposure.  Aged for ten months, it sees no oak, however it still possesses a rich texture and wonderful body.  The aromas are reminiscent of yellow fruit: bananas, pineapples, and apricots.  All of this leads to, on a whole, a soft slightly dry wine with excellent finish.  This is southern Italian wine with character.
