Habitat For Humanity Donates Equipment To Stony Brook Hospital

STONY BROOK, NY — Habitat for Humanity of Suffolk staff members drove to the entrance of Stony Brook University Hospital’s Trauma Unit to deliver 200 masks and 1,750 disposable coverall suits, the Suffolk organization said in a news release Tuesday.

The masks were donated by Habitat’s construction department and the disposable coveralls from Suffolk ReStore, Habitat’s donation center in Ronkonkoma, which previously received the supplies from Michael Mangiacapra of American Regent, a Division of Luitpold Pharmaceuticals, Inc.

"The donations are playing a critical role in helping Long Island’s brave and dedicated healthcare workers, during a time where there is a large demand and huge shortage of medical supplies," Habitat for Humanity stated. "The health and well-being of Habitat’s families, neighbors and the communities served are Habitat Suffolk’s top priority."

While the headquarters in Middle Island and ReStore are temporarily closed, the administrative staff are working remotely.

"Critical projects and initiatives will continue to move forward, honoring the Habitat mission to bring people together to build homes and provide communities hope, a need that will grow even greater during these difficult and uncertain times."
