Judge Ukeiley Found "Highly Qualified" by the Independent Judicial Election Qualification Commission
Rating helps voters have greater confidence in the judicial election process

On Friday, August 1, 2014, the Independent Judicial Election Qualification Commission determined that District Court/Acting County Judge Stephen Ukeiley is “’Highly Qualified’ for election as Judge of the District Court.”
“I am honored to have received the highest possible judicial rating,” said Judge Ukeiley. “The fact that this rating comes from an independent body with no vested interest other than a strong judiciary makes it that much more special. I thank the committee for their time and consideration and am greatly appreciative of the service they provide the residents of Suffolk County.”
Moreover, the Commission stated that “voters will have greater confidence in the judicial election process if they know that judicial candidates were screened by independent screening panels and found to possess the qualities necessary for effective judicial performance.”
