SUFFOLK FEDERAL CREDIT UNION OFFERS STUDENTS OPPORTUNITY TO WIN SCHOLARSHIPS

Suffolk Federal Credit Union is now offering local high-school seniors a chance to win scholarships for college. Suffolk Federal will award scholarships of $1,500 each to ten young deserving members. One scholarship winner will also receive an additional $2,500 scholarship provided by the LT Michael P. Murphy Memorial Scholarship Foundation which Suffolk Federal will match for a total of $5,000.

To be eligible, students must be high-school seniors attending two- or four-year accredited educational institutions for the first time in the fall of 2015. They must also be a member of Suffolk Federal.

Applicants will be judged based upon their academic achievements, extracurricular and community activities as well as the quality of written essays. Last year, Suffolk Federal awarded $16,500 in scholarships.

“Each year, we welcome the opportunity to provide financial support to ten deserving local high school seniors as they begin their college experience and future career endeavors,” said William J. O’Brien, President & CEO of Suffolk Federal.
