Fire At Public Housing Complex Injures 3 On UES: Authorities

One of the victims was severely injured, authorities said.

NEW YORK — Three people were injured Sunday in a fire at a public housing complex on the Upper East Side, according to authorities.

Emergency personnel responded to the scene around 11:15 a.m. on the eighth floor of the Isaacs Houses, a New York City Housing Authority development in the 1800 block of First Avenue, authorities said.

In total, 120 fire and emergency personnel were at the building, according to the fire department.

Three people — a civilian with severe injuries and two first responders with minor injuries — were treated and taken to hospitals, authorities said.

The blaze was under control within 30 minutes, according to the department.
