Here are 5 of the Best Pizzerias on the Upper East Side
Some of the best pizza in the U.S., even the world, can be found in New York. Find out where to grab a slice by you.
UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — New York is the home to the best pizza in the United States, and don't let anyone tell you differently. Anyone who would try to convince you that — as the great Jon Stewart put it — the "tomato soup in a bread bowl" served up in Chicago is better than New York pizza is a sad, sad individual.
So why on earth would anyone living in New York ever order pizza from one of the big chains? Leave that to the suburbanites. Patch checked out what your fellow New Yorkers had to say on Yelp to determine where you should be grabbing a slice on the Upper East Side.

Yelp reviewer Joy G said: "Pizza Park is dangerously within walking distance from my apartment, which means a 12:30 am snack becomes almost inevitable, especially when said snack is a bubbling, delicious plain cheese slice doused with red pepper flakes and garlic powder."

Tina X says it's the best in the neighborhood: "Best pizza on the upper east side thanks to their ginormous ovens. The best pizza is actually just the plain margarita. Adding toppings makes it a little soggy but they have the plain cheese one down. The crust is crunchy and airy. The sauce is great. I live pretty much next door so this is my go to place if I "forgot" to pick up groceries."
Lunetta Pizza & Restaurant — 1427 3rd Ave
Tanya Z said: "Great variety in their selection! It's fast and easy and affordable. Great hot pizza slices in the UES. They hear them up right there and then so it's piping hot when you're about to eat!"
Sutton Pizzeria — 1140 1st Ave
Landon G, of Brooklyn, said: "Constantly the best slice in the city. Family run place with great staff. Never sacrifice on quality. I come here every week as I work up the street. One of the last truly good pies in the city. Don't waste your time with the guys up the block. This place is the real deal"
Patsy's Pizzeria — 1279 1st Ave
Cyn F, of Bayside, said: "The pizza is the thinnest pizza I have ever had. It's very flimsy, like a napkin, but it is DELICIOUS. The cheese is amazing, the basil is great, the pepperoni is delicious! They don't sell slices, so you'll have to get a pie. But trust me, you'll probably finish all of it anyway because it's thin and just so good."
