Unconscious Man On UES Subway Dies, Police Say

The man was found on the Q train, police said.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A man was pronounced dead after being found unconscious on an Upper East Side subway on Sunday, New York City Police Department officials said.

According to the NYPD, the man was found unconscious at 12:10 a.m. on Sunday on an uptown Q train at the East 96th Street and Second Avenue subway station.

Medics took the man to NYC Health & Hospitals/Metropolitan, where he was pronounced dead on arrival, police said.

The investigation into the man's death is ongoing, police said. The man's identity is being withheld until family can be properly notified, police said.

Police said that the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.
