The Upper East Side’s Main Attraction Has A New Rule

The Metropolitan Museum of Art has changed its pricing policy after 48 years

The Metropolitan Museum of Art is upping its prices, something it hasn’t done since 1970. The MET’s pricing policy has always been on a pay-as-you-wish basis although they had a suggested donation fee of $25. As of March 1st, that is no longer a suggestion. The new pricing policy requires out-of-state visitors to pay $25, while children under 12 receive free admission and senior citizens pay $17. The current suggested fee of $25 will remain the same for New Yorkers, as well as Connecticut and New Jersey students with a valid ID. On the bright side, you’re safe Upper East Siders.
