WATCH: Woman Rips Down Prayer Poster At Upper East Side Synagogue
Police are asking for help identifying a woman seen on video tearing down a prayer poster at an Upper East Side synagogue this week.
UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Police appealed to the public Wednesday for help identifying a woman who was captured on surveillance video tearing down a poster outside an Upper East Side synagogue.
The act of vandalism occurred around 4:30 a.m. Saturday outside the Chabad Israel Center at 1766 2nd Avenue near East 92nd Street, police said.
Footage shows the woman approaching the synagogue, pausing and raising her hands in the air with her eyes closed, and then turning to rip down the poster, which displayed the synagogue's prayer schedule, according to police.

The incident is being investigated by the NYPD's Hate Crime Task Force.
