2 Front Runners Emerge In Race To Represent UWS In Congress, Poll Shows
The new poll, published by Dream NYC, shows two candidates beginning to pull ahead of the pack.
UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — The race to replace longtime Democratic NY-12 Rep. Jerry Nadler is shaping up to be an East Side versus West Side race, and the East Side candidate is currently in the lead, according to a new poll.
The new poll, published by Dream NYC on Wednesday, shows two candidates beginning to pull ahead of the pack: Upper East Side Assemblymember Alex Bores, who was endorsed by former Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney and Upper West Side Assemblymember Micah Lasher, who was endorsed by Nadler.
And, close behind the two Assemblymembers is Kennedy scion Jack Schlossberg, who was endorsed by Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi.

In the most recent Dream NYC poll, which surveyed 605 likely Democratic voters in NY-12 between Feb. 26 and 27, 20 percent of responders said they'd vote for Bores, and 19 percent of responders said they'd vote for Lasher.
One thing to know is that Dream NYC is a political action committee with a Washington D.C. address that is throwing its support behind Bores's campaign for Nadler's seat, namely for Bores's platform of AI regulation.

The first poll in January from the same PAC surveyed 756 likely Democratic voters between Jan. 16 and 17, and showed Bores had 10 percent of responders' support, compared to Lasher's 13 percent.
Schlossberg's support fell from 23 percent in January to 18 percent in February, putting him in third place behind Lasher, according to the poll.
However, with 30 percent of voters still undecided, and the primary election more than three months away, the race is still wide open.
In both polls from Dream NYC, around 80 percent of responders had graduated from college, and around 40 percent of responders were over age 65.
All of the responders are based in the NY-12 district, which includes the Upper East Side, the Upper West Side, Midtown, Hell’s Kitchen, Central Park, Union Square, Chelsea and Stuyvesant Town. The responders are equally divided between East Siders and West Siders, according to Dream NYC.
After Nadler announced he'd be stepping down from his post after 30 years in office, a dozen Democratic candidates threw their hats in the ring.
The primary election is June 23, with the general election set for Nov. 3.
