8.5 Million Visit Jones Beach In 2022, 2nd Most For State Park
It was an increase of 500,000 from 2021.

ALBANY, NY — Jones Beach State Park saw a huge increase in 2022, according to figures released by Gov. Hochul's office.
The south shore destination had nearly 8.5 million visitors last year, up from 8 million in 2021. There were 8.3 million spectators at Jones Beach in 2020.
Hochul said: "Our recent investment to revitalize the park system, expand open space, and protect our coastlines will ensure that generations to come can enjoy the diverse environment that this state has to offer."

Hempstead Lake State Park, saw a jump of 21,000 visitors to 643,000 in 2022. However, Valley Stream State Park had a dropoff of guests in the past year at 388,000, off by 20,000.
Overall, state park attendance has been on the rise for more than a decade.

Jones Beach's 8.5 million visitors were surpassed only by Niagara Falls with 9.3 million last year.
