Don’t give thieves easy access to your vehicles!

Lock your vehicles and make it part of your 9pm Routine.

Last year, the seventh precinct saw a 3.6% decrease in crime and recorded the lowest crime rate of any precinct in the County. This does not mean we are immune to crime. The Nassau County Police Department is again reminding people to lock their cars. Items are being stolen out of unlocked vehicles and has become a problem in the neighborhood. The seventh precinct recently made arrests in connection with some of these larcenies. Lock your car and don’t become a victim. This is a crime of opportunity that is preventable. Help protect yourself against theft from vehicles by following the Nassau County Police Department’s 9pm routine.

Everyday at 9pm, examine you car(s) and complete the following checklist:

•Park your car in secure, well-lit locations.

•Close your windows and sunroofs.

•Remove spare keys from your vehicle.

•Remove your valuables from your vehicle.

*Wallets

*Electronics

*Pocketbooks

*Sunglasses

*Tools

*Garage Door Openers
