The state cracked down on teenage drinking, also confiscating dozens of fake IDs at the popular concert venue.

More than 60 people were arrested and more than 70 fake IDs were confiscated at concerts at Jones Beach over the summer.
On Tuesday, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced the results of Operation Prevent, a coordinated state-wide effort to crack down on underage drinking at concert venues.
"Underage drinking can lead to bad decisions with potentially life altering consequences, or worse," Cuomo said. "These sweeps help in preventing avoidable tragedies, as well as send a strong message that we have zero tolerance for this reckless behavior in New York."

Operation Prevent is a year-long initiative that also targets bars in an effort to crack down on underage drinking and teens buying fake IDs. Last year, Governor Cuomo issued a warning to college students on the dangers of buying fake IDs over the internet. In recent years, DMV investigators have found dozens of examples of underage license holders becoming victims of identity theft after purchasing fraudulent identification online from overseas companies.
