More Than 2 Dozen Weekend Jellyfish Stings At Jones Beach
The jellyfish came closer to the shore at some south shore locations.

WANTAGH, NY — Dozen of people were stung by jellyfish over the weekend at various beaches.
At Jones Beach, alone, as many as 30 bites were reported, News 12 said.
George Gorman with the state's Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation said the jellyfish came closer to the shore than usual, the cable news outlet reported.

Gorman's best advice:
"You don't want to go near the jellyfish. Swim away from them...That's your best course of action," he told News 12.
