• Teen Driver Pronounced Dead In Wantagh Motorcycle Crash, Passenger In Critical Condition: PD (patch.com) — A deadly motorcycle crash on the Wantagh State Parkway left a 19-year-old Queens rider dead and his passenger in critical condition after they were thrown from the bike near Goose Neck Bridge. The Sunday evening collision, which involved no other vehicles, shut down part of the parkway and drew a major response from New York State Police and local emergency crews.
   

• Nassau H.S. Athletics HOF Class of 2026 announced (liherald.com) — Wantagh sports fans will see longtime girls basketball coach Stan Bujacich honored as part of the Nassau County High School Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2026 this October. The induction list highlights standout coaches and athletes from across Nassau, including champions from Clarke, Massapequa, Carey, Long Beach and more, celebrating decades of local high school sports excellence.
   

• 'This will be there forever.' 50 names added to LI Island 9/11 memorial ahead of 25th anniversary (news12.com) — A Wantagh widow, Eva Cole, watched workers engrave her late husband Charles Cole's name onto the growing 9/11 memorial at the Cemetery of the Holy Rood in Westbury. Fifty additional names, including first-day victims and those lost to related illnesses, were added ahead of the 25th anniversary, bringing the Long Island tribute to 640 names and offering families a permanent place to remember loved ones.
