Our organization provides essential support to Ukrainian Humanitarian parolees through the Ukraine Supplemental Appropriation to Resettlement Agencies (USARA) Program. Through USARA, we help individuals and families achieve stability, economic independence, and successful integration into the community. We serve Ukrainian citizens paroled into the U.S., as well as non-Ukrainians who resided in Ukraine and were paroled into the U.S. between February 24, 2022 and September 30, 2024. A North Carolina man was arrested Wednesday morning after state police pulled him over and found a gun and drugs in his car.According to police, state troopers pulled over a 2006 Dodge Ram heading east on the Southern State Parkway near exit 28N in Wantagh. Police say the truck was pulled over for multiple commercial vehicle violations. After investigation, police say that the driver, Donald R. Stanfield, 37, of Walnut Cove, North Carolina, was in possession of a loaded handgun and marijuana.Stanfield was arrested and charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and unlawful possession of marijuana. He is scheduled to be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Thursday.Photo: Shutterstock
