Wantagh Community Welcomes Toro Pazzo Ristorante

The new Italian restaurant recently opened its doors on Wantagh Avenue.

Christopher Santoro of Seaford recently satisfied a lifelong dream by opening his own restaurant.

Toro Pazzo Ristorante Italiano is located at 753 Wantagh Ave in Wantagh, just a few feet from . This chic Italian establishment offers a New York City vibe with its industrial ceiling and waterfall behind the bar.

"I’ve worked in the restaurant industry for over 20 years," Santoro said. "I’m so excited to have the opportunity to open this establishment in my own community."

The appetizer menu includes moist and vibrant baked clams as well as polpettine di ricotta e noci, a perfect combination of fried ricotta with just a hint of walnuts.
There are a variety of salads offered, including the “italiana insalate," which consists of arugula, fennel, crispy pancetta, balsamic vinaigrette, and perfectly shaved parmigiano.

Standout entrées include “risotto mare e monti," which includes shrimp, manila clams, Prince Edward Island mussels, porcini mushroomspresented on a beautiful plate. The “fagottini di pollo” consists of chicken breast, puff pastry, cremini mushrooms, mashed potatoes, spinach, and cabernet.

Seafood lovers will enjoy the “spaghetti misto mare,” a seductive combination of shrimp, calamari, Prince Edward Island mussels, manila clams, fresh tomatoes, garlic, and white wine. Landlubbers will be delighted with the "pollo alle mandorle," consisting of almond crusted chicken breast, red bliss potatoes, broccoli and buerre blanc.

Nassau County Legislator Dennis Dunne,R-Levittown, and Levittown Community Council Vice President Tom Kohlman welcomed Santoro and his family on the night of their grand opening and wished them good luck.
