Women's Fund of LI to Honor Four Long Island Women
Four Long Island women will be honored at WFLI's Women Achiever Breakfast at the Crest Hollow Country Club on 10/23/14.

On Thursday, October 23, 2014, the Women’s Fund of Long Island (WFLI) will hold its 20th Annual Women Achievers Breakfast at Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury, NY at 7:30-10am. This event draws more than 700 attendees each year as it celebrates the accomplishments of Long Island women who have made outstanding contributions to their communities and their industries.
This year’s honorees are Sarah Kate Ellis, CEO and President of GLAAD, the nation’s only Lesbian, Gay Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Media advocacy nonprofit. and Dr. Jennifer Shaer, Partner, Board Member of Allied Physicians Group and pediatrician and breastfeeding medicine specialist.
WFLI’s Young Women Leader Awards will be presented to Tazim Merchant, a junior at Locust Valley High School and Gabrielle Ramirez, sophomore at Walt Whitman High School. They will each receive the Shapiro-McCormick Young Woman Leader Award named for the co-founders of the Women on the Job project for women’s workplace rights, which focused on WFLI’s

The Breakfast will take place on October 23rd. Tickets for the event are $95 each, $100 after October 9th, and can be purchased at www.womensfundli.org. All proceeds will go towards investing in the power of women and dreams of girls on Long Island.
