The new stations are part of Citi Bike's expansion into Upper Manhattan. In April, Citi Bike unveiled its first station north of 130th Street.

The uptown location opening came on the heels of a 2019 study showing that Citi Bike's service area serves a largely white, affluent population while shutting out poor people of color.

The company has plans to open stations in 14 new neighborhoods by 2023.
