Author Of 'Diary Of A Wimpy Kid' Coming To WaHi Book Store
Jeff Kinney, author of the hit series "Diary of a Wimpy Kid," is coming to the Word Up: Community Bookshop/Libreria Comunitaria on Monday.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — The Word Up: Community Bookshop/Libreria Comunitaria in Washington Heights is getting a special guest on Monday.
Jeff Kinney, the author of the best selling book series "Diary of a Wimpy Kid," is coming to the community book store as part of his "Socially Distanced Adventure Book Tour."
A ticket for the event cost $16, admits one adult and one child, and also comes with a signed copy of Kinney's "Diary of an Awesome Friendly Kid: Rowley Jefferson's Journal."

Upon buying a ticket, you will receive an email with added instructions for the event, including your personal appointment time for a meet and greet with Kinney.
Word Up: Community Bookshop/Libreria Comunitaria is Kinney's only stop in New York City.

Here is other information to know about the event:
- Kinney is happy to take socially distanced photos with fans.
- Signed books will be distributed to ticket holders at the event, not before.
- All attendees over the age of two must wear a mask, no exceptions.
- All attendees must stay six feet distanced from each other at all times during the event, no exceptions.
"Word Up is a multilingual, general-interest community bookshop and arts space in Washington Heights, New York City, committed to preserving and building a neighborhood in which all residents help each other live better informed and more expressive lives, using books as an instrument of reciprocal education and exchange, empowering not only themselves, but their community," reads the about page on Word Up's website.
A collective of over 60 neighborhood residents operate the Washington Height's book store, and since its founding, nearly 500 neighbors have trained as volunteers, according to its website.
