Council Member Ydanis Rodriguez is hosting a breakfast on Saturday to celebrate the contributions made by immigrants in New York City.
WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A Washington Heights politician is looking to shine a light on the neighborhood's immigrant community.
Council Member Ydanis Rodriguez is set to host a breakfast on Saturday to celebrate immigrants' contributions in New York City.
Rodriguez will also be highlighting the Municipal Voting Rights bill, which he introduced in January. The bill would create a process for lawful permanent residents in New York City to vote in city elections.

The bill has the support of 26 council members, Public Advocate Jumaane Williams, City Comptroller Scott Stringer, and the Manhattan and Brooklyn Borough Presidents.
Rodriguez will be joined at the breakfast by Congress Member Adriano Espailat, Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer, Public Advocate Williams, Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams, and others.

The breakfast will take place on an Open Street on Dyckman Street and Seaman Avenue.
