Bronx Man Dies After Inwood Crash Into Emergency Call Box: Cops
Joe Marte-Acosta was driving down Sherman Avenue when he lost control and ran into an emergency call box on Saturday, cops said.

INWOOD, NY — A Bronx man died Saturday when he lost control of his car and crashed into an emergency call box on the side of the road, police said.
Joe Marte-Acosta, 44, was driving down Sherman Avenue near West 204th Street when he lost control of his Toyota Highlander and crashed into the box, police said.
Emergency responders rushed Marte-Acosta, who lived on East 182nd Street in the Bronx, to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The NYPD's Collision Investigation Squad is still investigating the crash, cops said. No arrests have been made at this time.
