Brooklyn Man Fatally Shot In Inwood: Police
The man was shot and killed early Sunday morning after leaving a nightclub on Nagle Avenue, police said

INWOOD, NY — A Brooklyn man was shot and killed early Sunday morning after a night of partying at an Inwood nightclub, police told Patch.
NYPD officers found Semaj Smith, a 27-year-old resident of East New York, suffering from gunshot wounds to his chest and lower torso on Nagle Avenue between Academy and West 204th streets around 3:45 a.m. Sunday, police said. Smith was unconscious and unresponsive when first responders transported him to Saint Barnabas Hospital, police told Patch.
Smith was pronounced dead at the hospital, police said.

Police believe that Smith got into a fight, which escalated to the point he was shot, after leaving a nearby nightclub, police said. The NYPD is still investigating the homicide and no arrests have been made, police said.
