Finger Food: Man Loses Digit During Washington Heights Bar Fight

A man's finger was bitten off early Sunday morning at a Washington Heights restaurant.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — Police are searching for a man accused of biting off part of a man's finger during a bar fight in Washington Heights, an NYPD spokesman told Patch.

The bloody brawl occurred early Sunday morning around 1 a.m. at Caridad Restaurant on West 181st Street near Audubon Avenue, police said. The victim, 46-year-old Juan Rivas, had a few drinks while talking to an unidentified man before the two started fighting, police said.

During the scuffle, the man bit off Rivas' middle finger from the knuckle to the tip, police told Patch. Rivas was treated for his injuries at Columbia University Medical Center, police said.
