Inwood Film Festival Will Return For 5th Year, Submissions Open
Filmmakers from Inwood or those who have made movies about the neighborhood can win prizes at the March festival.
INWOOD, NY — The neighborhood's sights, sounds, people and talent will be on full display for the fifth year in a row at the Inwood Film Festival, organizers announced.
The Inwood Film Festival, one of the neighborhood's largest cultural events, will return in March.
In the meantime, organizers are looking for filmmakers to add their best work to the running for a line-up of special prizes. Submissions for the cultural event opened in October and will close on Jan. 15.

The film festival celebrates the neighborhood by accepting films that are either made in Inwood or its surrounding community or are by current or past Inwood community filmmakers.
Here's what you need to know if you'd like to join the competition:

- Short Shorts - exhibition of films 5" or less made by people from Inwood and its surrounding community or made in the Inwood community.
- Long Shorts - exhibition of short films 25" minutes or less made by people from Inwood and its surrounding community or made in the Inwood community.
- Feature Films - exhibition of feature films made by people from Inwood and its surrounding community or made in the Inwood community.
- Student Films - exhibition of films made by current students who reside or attend school in the Inwood community or made in Inwood.

Fees: All categories include a $30 fee to enter, except for the student film category, which costs $15.
