Man On Dirt Bike Almost Killed In Accident With Drunken Probation Officer, Reports Say
The driver of the dirt bike tried to flee after the accident, according to the New York Daily News.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A man on a dirt bike was nearly killed in an accident with an off-duty probation officer who was drunk in Washington Heights on Friday, reports say.
Orlando Santos, 24, was on the back of a dirt bike driven by Edwin Ortiz during a group ride with around 100 motorcycles and dirt bikes, the New York Daily News reported.
The dirt bike slammed into a black Acura turning off Amsterdam Avenue onto W. 189th Street around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday. The car was driven by Jessica Emory, a 33-year-old probation officer, according to the News.

After the accident, Ortiz tried to run away, according to the NY Daily News. Police caught him and he was arrested for drug possession, reckless endangerment and fleeing the scene of an accident.
Emory was charged with drunken driving, the News said.

The NY Daily News reported police as saying Santos was rushed to New York-Presbyterian Hospital Columbia with a "massive head injury."
"We're still trying to have hope he'll be alright," his girlfriend, who was only identified as Kimberly, said. "Seems like he's fighting, though," she said.
