Pedestrian Fatally Struck While Crossing Harlem River Drive: Police
The man was walking across a portion of the highway in the vicinity of West 158th Street in Washington Heights.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A pedestrian was struck and killed Thursday night while crossing the Harlem River Drive, police said.
The 58-year-old man, who has not been identified, was crossing the highway in the vicinity of West 158th Street around 11:08 p.m. when he was hit by a 2012 Honda Pilot, police said. When officers arrived on the scene they found the man suffering unconscious, unresponsive and suffering from severe trauma to the body, police said.
EMS responders transported the man to New York Presbyterian Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police told Patch.

The driver of the Honda Pilot, a 72-year-old man, stayed on the scene after the collision, police told Patch. No arrests have been made and the NYPD Collision Investigation Squad is still investigating, police said.
