Man Dies After Jumping In Front Of Uptown 1 Train, Police Say
A man was fatally struck by a 1 train at the West 231st Street station in the Bronx.

THE BRONX, NY — A man died after jumping in front of a 1 train early Wednesday morning in the Bronx, an NYPD spokesman told Patch.
The 25-year-old man was struck by a southbound train at the West 231st Street subway station around 1 a.m., an NYPD spokesman said. The victim, who was not identified, was taken to St. Barnabas hospital and pronounced dead shortly before 4:30 a.m., the spokesman told Patch.
Overnight 1 train service was suspended as officials operated at the West 231st Street scene. All 1 trains were shut down between Dyckman Street in Inwood and West 242nd Street in the Bronx around 1 a.m., MTA officials announced. Service was restored by 3:45 a.m., according to the MTA.
