Man Wanted For Sexually Assaulting Woman In Inwood Alley: Cops
The man grabbed a woman while she was walking up her apartment stairs near Sherman Avenue and forced her into a side alley, cops said.

INWOOD, NY — A man tried to rape and then sexually assaulted a woman after forcing her into a side alley in Inwood Wednesday night, police said.
The man knocked on the front vestibule door of the 32-year-old woman's apartment building near Sherman Avenue and Academy Street after she had just went inside around 8:20 p.m., police said. The woman opened the door, thinking the man lived in the building, and started walking to her apartment, police said.
But the man grabbed the woman from behind as she was walking up the stairs and forced her outside, into a side alley, police said.

He tried to take off her pants, was unable to do so, and forced the woman to perform a sex act before running away, police said.
The woman was brought to Allen Pavilion Hospital, where she was treated and released.

Police described the man as having short close-cut dark hair, standing approximately 6'0" tall, and weighing 200 pounds, with a large build. He was last seen wearing a Champion baseball cap, a gray Champion hooded sweatshirt, gray jogging pants, black and white sneakers and a black surgical mask.
