Massive Fire Breaks Out On Top Floor Of Inwood Building: FDNY
A large blaze ignited on the top floor of a six-story building in Inwood, according to the FDNY.

INWOOD, NY — A massive fire broke out in an Inwood building on Tuesday night, according to the New York City Fire Department (FDNY).
The blaze ignited at 7 p.m. on the top floor of a six-floor residential building at 74 Post Ave, according to the FDNY. Videos posted to social media showed that the flames quickly spread to the roof of the building.
The flames extended into the walls and loft of the building, an FDNY spokesperson told Patch

At least 138 firefighters battled the blaze, which became considered under control at 10:47 p.m., according to the FDNY.
There were two injuries, both firefighters, who were transported to a local hospital.

Additionally, two MTA buses went to the Inwood building to take all evacuated residents to other shelter, according to Council Member Ydanis Rodriguez.
Post Avenue from West 204th Street to Dyckman Street shutdown for multiple hours to cars.
FDNY has not yet determined the cause of the flames, and an investigation remains ongoing.
