Pizza Celebration at Hope Center Is All About Beating COVID-19
Leadership Appreciative of the Hard Work Hope Center Employees Are Doing to Fight COVID-19

When Hope Center Administrator Shragi Goldberg said to his staff proudly that this is indeed an honorable moment, leadership at the five-star 66-bed skilled nursing facility on University Avenue in The Bronx had owed it to his hard-working front-line nurses, as well as his non-clinical personnel. Together and wholeheartedly, each staff member did above and beyond what was asked of them during this pandemic, and then they went the extra mile. So on May 26, Lake Como Pizza from Amsterdam Avenue in Washington Heights came with 15 assorted pizza pies for the staff.

Hope Center, known for caring for HIV patients and former drug users, has much to celebrate and be thankful for since they have zero cases of COVID-19 deaths to date. So Goldberg, along with Recreation Director Joseph Wright and Director of Nursing Cheryl Beadle, thanked their staff outside of Hope Center with pizza, crisps, drinks and ice cream. The kosher pizza was delivered personally to the staff from Lake Como Pizza Assistant Manager Michael Feuerstein-Rudin. In addition to the pizza, Farmer's Pantry, from Westbury on Long Island, donated many bags of their cornbread crisps.

“My staff have been so diligent in this fight against the virus, you cannot thank them enough,” said Goldberg proudly. “We know the war isn’t over yet, but they have much to be proud about. When they go home after their shift ends, they can rest easily knowing that they have done a great job with our residents keeping the virus at bay from the residents and themselves.”
