The fight broke out when the teen tried to push past the 69-year-old man in the 191st Street Subway station elevator.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — Tensions can get high when riding the subway uptown, especially when packed inside a crowded elevator.

Those tensions blew up Tuesday afternoon, resulting in a brawl between a 15-year-old girl and a 69-year-old man at the 191st Street 1-train station.

The fight started when the girl tried pushing past the man, identified as Fabio Herrera, to exit the elevator, police told Patch. When the teen pushed past Herrera, he pushed back, police said. The teenage girl then turned around and struck Herrera in the face, police said.
