Two Arrested For Fishing Mail From Inwood Mailbox: Police

Two men from the Bronx were caught fishing for mail Tuesday from boxes on Broadway and Academy Street.

INWOOD, NY — Two men from the Bronx are facing charges for trying to fish mail out of mailboxes in Inwood, police told Patch.

Jeison German, 21, and Raudevin Then, 20, have been charged with grand larceny, possession of burglar tools and resisting arrest, an NYPD spokeswoman told Patch. German and Then were arrested Tuesday around 1:45 a.m. trying to fish mail from post boxes located on the corner of Broadway and Academy Street, police said.

German and Then will appear in New York Criminal Court on Feb. 8, according to court records.

Police could not confirm what kind of tools the two were using to try and lift mail from the post boxes.
