Two Teens Arrested for Violent Tuesday Morning Subway Robbery
Two teens that repeatedly kicked a man in the face and stole his phone were arrested Wednesday.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — Two teenagers are facing charges for a violent robbery committed on a 1 train Tuesday morning.
Wilson Salas, 17, and an unidentified 15-year-old boy have both been charged with assault and second-degree robbery, police told Patch. The two were arrested Wednesday, and were suspects in a Tuesday morning robbery on a northbound 1 train at the 181 Street station, police said.
Salas and the other teenager approached a 19-year-old man who was sleeping on the train and began to punch and kick the man in the face before stealing his cellphone, police said. The two fled when the train reached the 181 Street station.

The victim suffered bruises to the face and was taken to Colombia Presbyterian Hospital in stable condition, police said.
