WaHI Deli Attack Leaves Dad Unconscious, Daughter Hit With Bottle

The group beat up the father and daughter while they were inside a deli at 2090 Amsterdam Ave in Washington Heights, police said.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A large group of people attacked a man and his daughter in a Washington Heights deli, knocking the father out cold and injuring the daughter, according to police.

The incident took place inside the store at 2090 Amsterdam Ave, on July 7, 2020. Police released video of the attack Thursday.

A group of 10 to 15 people entered the store already attacking the 22-year-old daughter, repeatedly punching and kicking her and hitting her in the head with a beer bottle, police said.

The video shows one attacker opening a refrigerator in the deli and grabbing the beer bottle during the assault. Other members of the group attempted to close the fridge to stop the bottles from being used as a weapon.

Attackers then turned their attention to the 41-year-old father, knocking him unconscious to the ground and kicking him repeatedly.

Additionally, the group stole a 39-year-old woman's cell phone as she attempted to call the police.

Emergency services took the father to the NYC Health and Hospitals/Harlem in stable condition. The daughter was treated at the scene by EMS, according to police.

Police are asking the public's help in identifying several people tied to the attack:

  • Devonte Phillips: 21-year-old male: 5-foot-10
  • Tyquan Dupon: 22-year-old male: 6-foot-2
  • Tyrone Lawrence: 26-year-old male: 5-foot-9
