WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A group of masked thieves who tried to break into a Washington Heights office on Tuesday ended up leaving empty-handed, police said.

The group of four, wearing masks and hoods, ran into a foreclosure office called DJR Multi Services on St. Nicholas Avenue around 8:20 p.m., police said.

Two of the masked men took out guns and tried to get into the back office area, banging on the walls and sticking the gun through an opening in the front desk window, according to video and police.

But the would-be thieves were unsuccessful at breaking into the back of the office and ended up running away empty-handed, police said.

There were no shots fired and no injuries reported from the incident.
