Venture “into the woods” as WHBPAC’s Arts Education Program’s Teen Theatre Troupepresents its second full-scale musical production, Into The Woods Junior, a teen interpretation of the Tony Award-winning classic by Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine.
This family-friendly adaptation is condensed to one hour and focuses solely on the first act of the full-length Into The Woods musical. With unforgettable roles and enchanting songs,Into The WoodsJunior’ssophisticated score has been adapted to make it easier - though still challenging - for young performers.
This witty and wildly engaging performance, featuring beautiful costumes and a whimsical set, is a great way to get young people to think about the stories with which they’ve grown up and the ethical issues raised therein. Cinderella, Jack-and-the-Beanstalk, Little Red Riding Hood and more search for what they most desire in the world, beginning with the simple words: “I wish....”
