Riverhead School District Hosts Run to Remember Run/Walk

The event raised over $5,000.

The Riverhead Central School District Administrator’s Association organized a Run to Remember Run/Walk last month as a memoriam to students, teachers, staff and loved ones who have died.

On the day of the run/walk memorial boards were on view in view in the high school gymnasium where the runners congregated after the race to enjoy fruit and to hear the results of the run.

“We had a wonderful crowd turn out for a great cause,” Riverhead High School Assistant Principal Patrick Burke said. “It was a beautiful day and I received really good feedback from everyone I spoke with. We wanted to give the community an opportunity come together as a community to remember people they have lost in their lives. We’re looking forward to making this an annual event in an effort to raise funds to add more scholarships for our students.”
