Southampton Town Board Approved Canoe Place Inn Redevelopment Plan

The plan was approved during the Town Board meeting on Tuesday.

The proposed plan to expand the Canoe Place Inn and redevelop the land on both sides of the Shinnecock Canal was approved by the Southampton Town Board on Tuesday, 27east reports.

The plan raised some concerns among citizens, including Shinnecock Hills resident Dale Nicholl, who wrote a letter to the editor last month, stating why she thought residents should vote ‘no’ to zoning changes.

The Town Board listened to resident’s concerns during the public hearing on the plan, which was held in December.
