🌱 Westhampton-Hampton Bays Daily: Windmill Fundraising + Val/Sal

The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Westhampton-Hampton Bays.

(Patch Media)

Good morning, Westhampton-Hampton Bays neighbors and friends. It's that time of year again — when local high schools start announcing their names of valedictorians and salutatorians. And even though my own son graduated Westhampton Beach High School a while ago, in 2010, I remember so well the feeling of pride as he walked across that field to accept his diploma. These students, our children, they're everything, our future, our hearts. And so writing about the kids who've achieved these honors warms my heart, especially in a time when so much else is uncertain. Despite the pandemic, these young people continued to shine and soar — and not just those with the highest academic standings. All of them. They deserve our support, our pride, and our steadfast encouragement as they set off the face the world.

Also today, fundraising has kicked off to save the windmill in Westhampton Beach. I, for one, can't wait to see this incredible windmill, steeped in history, settled into a new spot on the Great Lawn.

Until tomorrow. . .
