Patrons who visited the Library before Halloween had to be very careful before turning into the book stacks. They might have been greeted by a zombie. The Teen Blvd. at Westhampton Free Library opened its doors to 38 teens for the highly anticipated Zombie Library, which took place on Saturday, October 26, 2013. “The Zombie Library offered teens a fun and safe place to celebrate Halloween. It provided a great way to show our teens what we have to offer,” said Westhampton Free Library Director Danielle Zubiller.
While patiently waiting to go through the Zombie infested Library with their tour guide, Jenna Martuscello, teens enjoyed pizza, cake, crafting, and zombie video games while watching the movie World War Z.

The teens were broken into groups of 5-6 people, which were initially taken into Target Practice where they used Nerf Guns to shoot practice targets. Upon completion, teens were taken throughout the Library by their tour guide where they had to solve three missions (trivia questions, a puzzle, and record a video message for the next group) while escaping the Zombies roaming the Library.

“I’m absolutely thrilled with the turnout that we had for Zombie Library. Having teens approach me saying what a great time they had, made all the hard work completely worth it! I wouldn't have been able to pull this off without the amazing staff and teens who volunteered their time at Westhampton Free Library,” said Westhampton Teen Librarian Dana Amarosa.
