• The West Islip Country Fair is coming soon (trihamletnews.com) — West Islip residents can look forward to the Country Fair returning Sept. 27 at the West Islip Public Library grounds, running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Expect more than 100 craft vendors, plenty of food, kids' games, and live music, with a rain date of Oct. 4 to keep the fall fun on track.
   

• Boat Flips In Fire Island Inlet During Labor Day Outing, Coast Guard Responds (dailyvoice.com) — A Labor Day boating trip turned dangerous when a vessel flipped in Fire Island Inlet, with the U.S. Coast Guard rescuing five people as the West Islip Fire Department reported. One person was treated for minor injuries at Good Samaritan Hospital, while others declined care, and the submerged boat was towed to the Coast Guard's Fire Island station.
