Another threat was made toward West Islip High School on Monday, according to district officials.

Suffolk police confirmed a threat was made toward the school on Monday and said patrols have been increased in the area around the school. Police also did not release any specific information on the nature of the latest threat.
The new threat comes after two others were made last week, both of which were unfounded. Last Thursday, police received a 911 call at 2:34 p.m. reporting a bomb threat, which was made on a social media site, according to a recorded call to parents from West Islip Superintendent Bernadette Burns. The high school was briefly locked down while police investigated the threat.

Last Monday, a shooting and bomb threat was made toward the school via an online chat operated by the Boys Town suicide hotline in Nebraska. That threat, which was made from a computer with a Delaware IP address, was also unfounded, police said.
