White Plains Has Westchester's Best-Tasting Tap Water: Contest

The City of White Plains claimed the top spot for best tasting drinking water and will advance on to the State Competition.

The following announcement is from the office of White Plains Mayor Thomas Roach:

The City of White Plains was recently determined to have the best tasting tap water in Westchester among the County’s public water suppliers. After winning the County contest, the City’s Department of Public Works was then invited to the regional competition, where more than half of the population of New York State was represented.

That competition was held in the American Museum of Natural History at 81st Street and Central Park West on Tuesday July 29th at 2:30 p.m. Participants included the Suffolk County Water Authority (Suffolk County), the City of White Plains (Westchester County), the Village of Old Westbury (Nassau County), New Windsor Consolidated (Orange County), and New York City (New York City Counties). This competition was overseen by the New York State Department of Health.
