Yonkers Assemblywoman Chosen By Dems To Succeed Latimer
Whoever get the nomination at the convention gets the Democratic Party line on the special election ballot.

WHITE PLAINS, NY — Yonkers Assemblywoman Shelley Mayer will be running to succeed George Latimer as state senator for the 37th District. She was chosen by Democratic Party leaders to vie for the open seat.
Latimer vacated the Senate seat when he took office as Westchester county executive Jan. 1.
Mayer is likely the favorite for the Democratic line out of a field that included Bedford Supervisor Chris Burdick, Kat Brezier of White Plains and Mark Jaffe of West Harrison, the Journal News said.

The 37th District contains parts of the cities of Yonkers, White Plains and New Rochelle as well as Bedford, Harrison, Mamaroneck, North Castle and Rye.
