12YO Makes Bomb Threat Against Yorktown School: Police
A student told a school resource officer she had received a text message containing the threat.

YORKTOWN, NY — A 12-year-old was arrested in Yorktown for making a bomb threat.
Yorktown Police said the Yorktown Heights youth was charged with juvenile delinquency, with the underlying charge being second-degree falsely reporting an incident.
Around 7:36 a.m. April 4, Mildred E. Strang School Resource Officer Brian Mundy was alerted by a student that she had gotten a text message from an unknown number that contained a nonspecific bomb threat.

Police responded to the scene and met with school officials, who deemed the threat to be unsubstantiated.
Investigating officer ID’d the 12-year-old, whose name is being withheld due to eligibility for youthful offender status.

The boy’s parents were contacted and came to the school
He was issued a juvenile appearance ticket and directed to appear in the Westchester County Department of Probation April 25.
