17YO Arrested For Marijuana Possession, Driving Violations: Yorktown Police
Police said he was driving too fast and didn't have proper plates.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Mohegan Lake 17-year-old was arrested July 24 after being stopped for allegedly speeding in Yorktown. Police said the teenager, whose name is being withheld due to eligibility for youthful offender status, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation, and speed unreasonable, no front plate displayed and improperly turning, traffic violations.
Around 5:55 p.m., a police officer on routine patrol saw a vehicle allegedly traveling at a high rate of speed with no front plate. It made an improper turn and a traffic stop was initiated. [Get Patch’s Daily Newsletter and Real Time News Alerts here.]
Further investigation at the scene found the teen allegedly had 4 grams of marijuana.

He was arrested and taken to the Yorktown Police Department for processing.
The youth was released on his own recognizance to a parent and is due back in Yorktown Justice Court August 24.
