2 Hudson Valley Men Accused Of Stealing Chainsaws From Lowe's
Police said one of the chainsaw boxes still had an anti-theft device attached to it
YORKTOWN, NY — Two Hudson Valley men were accused of stealing power tools from Lowe's.
Yorktown police said Todd Johnson, 40, of Poughkeepsie, was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and petit larceny, misdemeanors, and Jason Miller, 35, of Brewster, was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a misdemeanor, and moved from lane unsafely, a traffic infraction.
According to police, shortly before 6 p.m. Saturday, an officer saw a car that was said to have been used in connection with a shoplifting incident at Lowe's.

The vehicle seen moving from its lane unsafely, along with other traffic violations, police said.
The officer stopped the vehicle, which was occupied by Johnson and Miller, and saw two new chainsaws in their original boxes in the backseat. One of the boxes still had an anti-theft device attached to it, police said.

An investigation found that the chain saws were stolen from Lowe's, according to the authorities.
Johnson and Miller were arrested and taken to the Yorktown Police Department for processing.
Both men were issued appearance tickets and were released on their own recognizance. They are due to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court Nov. 24.
